A library of things?

Have you heard about Leila?

Leila, short for ‘leihladen’ is the place in Ottakring where neighbours and other members of their community have the chance to share stuff. What kind of stuff, you ask? Basically, all those things that might be standing around in an apartment or basement, but are only used a couple of times a year. Think: tools like a drill or ladder, but also costumes, camping gear, cooking equipment and much much more. Leila allows you to store your stuff in their library, so that other people can use it too. And at the same time, you have access to their stuff as well. Pretty handy! It means that together you can make more use of all these things. So, you don’t need to own every single tool, and have it gather dust and clog up your living space.
